This Week's Free Games and Deals (Oct 19-25)
Deep Rock Galactic headlines the deals: a co-op shooter for up to four dwarven miners that sits at Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam and has never been cheaper there. On the free side, Epic is giving away Sorry We're Closed, a colorful retro survival horror game with Overwhelmingly Positive reviews, while GOG offers A New Beginning - Final Cut, a hand-drawn Daedalic point-and-click adventure about time travel and climate.
Best of the week
Deep Rock Galactic
Grab itSteam Deck: Playable
Up to four dwarves drop into destructible, freshly generated alien caves to mine minerals and fend off swarms, with each player taking a class like the grappling Scout or the tunneling Driller. Reviewers praise the teamwork, and several say it's a game they share with their kids, friends and family, so groups looking for a co-op shooter where every role counts should grab it at its lowest Steam price ever while the sale is on.

You play Michelle, a cursed Londoner who explores her neighborhood and a demon realm through fixed cameras, switches to first-person to shoot monsters, and uses her Third Eye to uncover clues, with conversations leading to several endings. Reviewers love the art and its heartfelt love story, and fans of Silent Hill or classic Resident Evil who want a stranger, more colorful spin should claim it on Epic before the giveaway ends.
A New Beginning - Final Cut
Worth a trySteam Deck: UnsupportedRuns on older PCs
This comic-styled point-and-click adventure has you collecting and combining items as a retired bioengineer and a time traveler named Fay try to head off a climate disaster. The hand-drawn look and offbeat plot win praise, though it sits at Mostly Positive on Steam and reviewers note flat voice acting and some confusing puzzles, plus some bugs; it's best suited to patient genre fans rather than anyone wanting a polished modern adventure, and it's free on GOG for now.
