Steam: $9.99 (75% off) · regular price $39.99 · 96% positive Steam reviews (73,324) · ends Nov 3, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A remake of a Capcom classic in which agent Leon S. Kennedy hunts for the president's abducted daughter in a remote European village where the locals have turned hostile. Seen from just behind Leon's shoulder, you aim and fire at mobs of villagers closing in, trade for weapons with a traveling merchant and push through tense, movie-like set pieces.

What players say: Fans say the remake rebuilds the original remarkably well, from the unhinged villagers to the beloved weapons merchant. The main complaint is a DRM layer added after launch.

Worth buying? An easy pick for anyone who likes horror with plenty of action, and it has never been cheaper on Steam.

Steam: $1.99 (80% off) · regular price $9.99 · 94% positive Steam reviews (4,496) · ended Oct 22, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A 2006 combat racer from Bugbear where smashing into things is half the point. You plow through fences, tire stacks and barrels, crumple rival cars, and can send your driver flying out of the windshield in ragdoll minigames and demolition derbies. A career mode splits races into derby, race and street car classes.

What players say: Fans love the over-the-top crashes and the scenery falling apart mid-race, along with a rock soundtrack that still holds up. Many return out of nostalgia and find it has aged well.

Worth buying? Anyone who wants quick, silly arcade racing where wrecking rivals matters more than clean racing lines will have a great time.

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price ever

Steam: $7.99 (80% off) · regular price $39.99 · 96% positive Steam reviews (60,247) · ends Nov 3, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: Capcom's 2019 rebuild of the 1998 original, set in Raccoon City as an outbreak turns its people into zombies. You can play separate stories as police rookie Leon Kennedy or student Claire Redfield, creeping through a monster-filled police station, piecing together clues to solve puzzles and aiming at the undead from behind your character.

What players say: Self-described scaredy-cats say it turned them into horror fans, and the well-pitched puzzles and tightly connected map design get steady praise.

Good to know: It features graphic, bloody violence.

Worth buying? A strong starting point for anyone curious about survival horror but nervous about it, while series veterans get a faithful rebuild of a classic.

Steam: $4.79 (84% off) · regular price $29.99 · 88% positive Steam reviews (22,345) · ends Nov 3, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: An open-world action RPG set in a dark fantasy realm, where you create your own hero and roam with AI companions called Pawns that learn from the way you fight. Combat is hands-on: you can climb onto a griffin mid-flight, sever a hydra's heads or hunt for a dragon's weak spots, and you can swap between vocations such as melee fighter or mage.

What players say: The combat draws the most love, especially scaling giant monsters, along with the distinct classes and the Pawn system. The common gripe is the long, aimless walks between fights.

Good to know: Pawns can be shared online, so other players can borrow yours and you can borrow theirs.

Worth buying? Players who want to build a hero and wrestle huge monsters with a trained companion at their side should jump in while it sits at its lowest Steam price.

Steam: $4.99 (75% off) · regular price $19.99 · 91% positive Steam reviews (13,610) · ends Nov 3, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: The HD remaster of the original Resident Evil, where a special forces team investigating murders outside Raccoon City is driven into a creepy mansion by vicious dogs. You explore the house from fixed camera angles, juggle scarce supplies in a tiny inventory and solve puzzles to unlock new areas.

What players say: Reviewers rave about the mansion's atmosphere and the satisfaction of slowly mapping it out, but the slow door animations, cramped inventory and backtracking test their patience.

Good to know: You can switch between widescreen and the classic screen format at any time while playing.

Worth buying? Patient players who enjoy old-school puzzle-box design and fixed camera angles will feel right at home here.

Steam: $1.99 (80% off) · regular price $9.99 · 98% positive Steam reviews (5,085) · ends Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A story-driven pixel-art adventure from Freebird Games. Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts dive into the memories of a dying man named Colin and move backward through his life to grant a final wish that seems to contradict itself. It mixes gentle exploration with a mystery, jokes and heavy emotional moments.

What players say: Many say the ending left them in tears, and they praise a gripping, heartfelt story that pulls them in.

Good to know: It continues the To the Moon series, but you don't need to have played the earlier games.

Worth buying? Its lowest Steam price ever makes this an easy call for anyone who wants a story-led game that hits hard.

Steam: $2.49 (90% off) · regular price $24.99 · 95% positive Steam reviews (3,163) · ends Nov 4, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A first-person psychological horror game from We Create Stuff, the team behind Nightmare House 2. You wake in a strange building and dig into the memories of patients exposed to an experimental chemical, with each chapter bringing its own puzzles, weapons and boss fights, plus a cat named Tonia. The Living Tombstone wrote the music.

What players say: Reviewers praise a surprisingly thoughtful story about the mind, along with clever puzzles and environmental storytelling. The main warning is bugs that blocked progress partway through.

Worth buying? Horror fans who want a story with real emotional weight will get plenty out of it.

Grab itSteam Deck: UnsupportedLowest Steam price ever

Steam: $7.49 (50% off) · regular price $14.99 · 88% positive Steam reviews (4,856) · ends Nov 3, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A colorful sci-fi looter shooter where you play a crew of scrappy robot exterminators sent by a corporation to fight a fungal plague spreading across a planet. Between missions you slot new mods into a grid-based upgrade system, turning weapons and power tools into absurd builds, and hang out in an orbital dropship hub.

What players say: Fans enjoy the smooth movement, the distinct characters and the puzzle of fitting upgrades into the grid. The recurring gripe is heavy enemy spam that makes solo play a slog.

Good to know: You can play solo, but it is built around online co-op for up to four players.

Worth buying? Best with one to three friends who enjoy tinkering with silly builds and goofing around in the hub between missions.

Steam: $2.99 (85% off) · regular price $19.99 · 86% positive Steam reviews (5,949) · ends Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A first-person shooter set in Rapture, a ruined underwater city, about ten years after the first BioShock. You play as a Big Daddy, the hulking diving-suited guardian, mixing guns with genetic powers while chasing a mysterious foe who has been abducting little girls from the coast.

What players say: Many call it a worthy sequel with a gripping story and smoother controls than the first game, but frequent crashes on modern Windows come up again and again.

Good to know: It also includes a separate multiplayer mode set during Rapture's fall.

Worth buying? Shooter fans who care about story and atmosphere will enjoy seeing Rapture through a Big Daddy's visor.

Steam: $4.99 (75% off) · regular price $19.99 · 84% positive Steam reviews (19,227) · ends Nov 3, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: An action-heavy entry in the Resident Evil series where Chris Redfield and his partner Sheva Alomar investigate a biological agent turning people in Africa into aggressive creatures. It is a third-person shooter built around a two-player campaign, trading much of the horror for big gunfights and boss battles.

What players say: Co-op is the big draw, with solid gunplay and chaotic fun alongside a friend, though several longtime fans object to DRM added to the game years after release.

Good to know: It uses The Enigma Protector DRM.

Worth buying? Worth playing with a friend for the shared campaign; solo players hunting for real scares will get less out of it.
