Worth a trySteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price ever
Steam: $23.99 (60% off) · regular price $59.99 · 84% positive Steam reviews (318,540) · ends Nov 9, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A first-person open-world survival crafting game from Hello Games, set in a procedurally generated galaxy where you can fly from deep space down to a planet's surface without a loading screen. You mine resources, build bases, upgrade your ship and exocraft vehicles, discover alien creatures, and take on fights or follow the main story whenever you like. It has picked up a long list of major updates since launch.
What players say: The freedom gets the most love: base building, ship and character customization, deep-sea exploring and space combat all sit side by side, and the steady free updates keep it fresh. The usual gripe is a rough start, with a thin tutorial and mechanics that take a while to click.
Good to know: Besides solo play it supports online co-op and PvP, so you can explore with friends or run into other players.
Worth buying? Worth a look for players who want a slow, open-ended space sandbox to return to over months rather than a tightly guided campaign, and it has never been cheaper on Steam.

Steam: $1.49 (90% off) · regular price $14.99 · 96% positive Steam reviews (29,631) · ended Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A first-person survival horror game from Red Barrels in which journalist Miles Upshur breaks into Mount Massive Asylum, a secretive facility hidden in the Colorado mountains. You cannot fight back, so staying alive means running, hiding and sneaking past unpredictable enemies while you uncover what the asylum is hiding. Its focus is on how terrifying people themselves can be.
What players say: Even years after release, reviewers call it one of the scariest games they have played, praising the gripping plot and the constant feeling of helplessness.
Good to know: It contains graphic, bloody violence.
Worth buying? Horror fans who have never been through Mount Massive should fix that; at 96%, it is one of the most loved scary games on Steam.
A Plague Tale: Innocence

Grab itSteam Deck: PlayableLowest Steam price ever
Steam: $3.99 (90% off) · regular price $39.99 · 92% positive Steam reviews (22,807) · ends Nov 9, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A third-person stealth adventure set in plague-stricken France in 1348, where young Amicia tries to keep her little brother Hugo safe. You slip past Inquisition soldiers and use fire and light to hold back huge swarms of rats, teaming up with other children along the way. The relationship between the two siblings drives the whole journey.
What players say: The emotional story, the bond between Amicia and Hugo, and the gorgeous visuals and music win over most reviewers. Critics point to linear, formulaic gameplay and puzzles that repeat the same ideas.
Worth buying? An easy pick for anyone who loves story-driven adventures with tense stealth, and it has never cost less on Steam.
The Last Campfire

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $1.49 (90% off) · regular price $14.99 · 97% positive Steam reviews (5,936) · ends Nov 9, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A puzzle adventure from Hello Games about a small lost ember wandering a fantasy land beyond a dark forest in search of a way home. You explore gentle wilderness and old ruins, solving environmental puzzles that free other lost wanderers, while a narrator tells the story. The storybook art and bittersweet tone set it apart.
What players say: Reviewers adore the soft storybook visuals, the narration and the touching story. The main complaint is that most puzzles are easy and the tone feels aimed at younger players.
Worth buying? Families and anyone after a short, calming story with a warm heart will find a lot to like here.
Crypt of the NecroDancer

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price in a yearRuns on older PCs
Steam: $2.99 (80% off) · regular price $14.99 · 95% positive Steam reviews (12,586) · ended Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A roguelike dungeon crawler where every step and attack has to land on the beat of the music. You descend through ever-changing dungeons fighting dancing skeletons, zombies and dragons, with a pixel-art look and a soundtrack by Danny Baranowsky, or tracks you supply yourself as MP3 files. Diamonds you collect unlock permanent upgrades, and there are many characters with different playstyles.
What players say: The rhythm-meets-roguelike idea, the soundtrack and the huge replay value earn constant praise. Nearly everyone also warns that it is brutally hard, with the later zones turning into a wall.
Good to know: It has mod support and works with a dance mat plugged in over USB as well as with a keyboard or gamepad.
Worth buying? If you enjoy a punishing challenge set to great music, this is the lowest it has been on Steam in a year.
The Outlast Trials

Steam: $11.99 (70% off) · regular price $39.99 · 92% positive Steam reviews (99,983) · It was $3.99 on Steam within the past year · ended Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A first-person survival horror game set during the Cold War, where you are a test subject in a Murkoff Corporation facility built for brainwashing experiments. You complete story-driven trials and shorter challenges, hiding and fleeing from grotesque enemies to earn your release. You can customize your prisoner and play alone or with friends.
What players say: Reviewers have a blast with the chaotic, grotesque encounters and the over-the-top enemies, often laughing at how scared they get.
Good to know: You can play solo or in teams of two to four, and co-op is never required for the main objectives.
Worth buying? Best with a group of friends who enjoy screaming together; it has been cheaper within the past year, so patient buyers can hold out for a deeper sale.
Grim Fandango Remastered

Steam: $2.24 (85% off) · regular price $14.99 · 88% positive Steam reviews (3,853) · ended Nov 1, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A remastered point-and-click adventure starring Manny Calavera, a travel agent for the Department of Death who sells trips to souls in the Land of the Dead. You talk your way through a conspiracy and solve puzzles in a world that blends film noir with Mexican folklore. The remaster adds sharper character art, new lighting, an orchestral score and developer commentary.
What players say: The witty writing, voice acting, memorable characters and unique setting get glowing praise. Common complaints are obscure puzzles that send people to a walkthrough and bugs in the remaster, including game-breaking softlocks.
Worth buying? Lovers of clever dialogue and classic adventure-game puzzles will feel right at home in Manny's world.

What it is: A 2.5D puzzle-platformer from Playdead in which a boy, hunted and alone, is drawn toward the heart of a sinister project. Without any words or tutorials, you run from pursuers and solve physical puzzles in a bleak, almost colorless world. There are multiple endings to uncover.
What players say: The oppressive atmosphere and the way it trusts you to figure everything out on your own are what reviewers praise most, though many admit they are still unsure what the story means.
Worth buying? Ideal for puzzle-platformer fans who prefer mood over explanation; since it sold for less within the past year, there is no harm in waiting for a deeper sale.
Limbo

Steam: $1.24 (90% off) · regular price $12.49 · 91% positive Steam reviews (13,162) · It was $0.99 on Steam within the past year · ended Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A 2D black-and-white puzzle-platformer from Playdead about a boy searching for his sister in an eerie, shadowy world. You push boxes and work out environmental puzzles, often learning by dying in grim, darkly funny ways. Its silent, minimalist style keeps the focus on atmosphere.
What players say: Reviewers love the haunting atmosphere and striking art style. The most common complaints are its short length and puzzles that swing between obvious and frustrating.
Worth buying? Anyone who loves moody, wordless platformers should play it, though it went lower within the past year, so patient buyers can wait for a deeper sale.
Outlast 2

Worth a trySteam Deck: PlayableLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $1.99 (90% off) · regular price $19.99 · 84% positive Steam reviews (11,144) · ended Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: The follow-up to Outlast, in which cameraman Blake Langermann and his wife Lynn chase a murder case into the Arizona desert and stumble onto a cult run by Sullivan Knoth. You flee, hide and creep through the town of Temple Gate and the wild country around it, leaning on your camcorder's night vision to see anything in the dark. It shares a world with the original but follows new characters in a new place.
What players say: The night-vision camera and the gruesome atmosphere land well with fans, but a frequent complaint is nonstop chase sequences and shock-heavy content that leave the story hard to follow.
Good to know: It contains bloody violence and very disturbing mature themes.
Worth buying? Fans of the first Outlast who want something even harsher should give it a go; anyone who prefers slower horror with room to breathe can skip it.
Steam Deck results are Valve's own tests of the Steam version. Runs on older PCs means 4 GB of RAM or less.
