Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced

Worth a trySteam Deck: UnsupportedLowest Steam price ever

Steam: $14.99 (50% off) · regular price $29.99 · 83% positive Steam reviews (233,698) · ends Nov 5, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: Rockstar North's open-world crime game, rebuilt for current PCs with ray tracing, faster loading and DLSS and FSR support. The story follows three criminals, a young hustler, an ex-bank robber and an unhinged psychopath, pulling dangerous heists across Los Santos, and GTA Online is included for co-op and competitive play.

What players say: Long-time players still enjoy causing chaos in Los Santos across both the story and Online, but several are angry that recent Online updates cut heist payouts sharply.

Good to know: It's a large install, needing 105 GB of storage.

Worth buying? Newcomers to the story get the most out of this, as long as linking a Rockstar account and the paid extras in Online don't bother you.

Steam: $2.09 (93% off) · regular price $29.99 · 91% positive Steam reviews (2,954) · ends Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A Halloween-themed 3D platformer where you play Jack, a pumpkin-headed lord doing the Devil's work to wipe out the forces of good. Across bright, spooky levels you mix combo-based combat with platforming and physics puzzles, sometimes rolling around as just Jack's flaming head, with an owl and a crow tagging along as companions.

What players say: Reviewers love the colorful autumn look, the new weapon in each level, the many mini-games and the funny characters. Others find the platforming simple, and a couple of set-piece segments drag.

Worth buying? Platformer fans after a seasonal, collectible-filled romp will have a good time, though anyone who wants deep, demanding gameplay should pass.

Steam: $1.49 (90% off) · regular price $14.99 · 94% positive Steam reviews (1,723) · ends Oct 26, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A 2003 third-person shooter from IO Interactive in which a foreign superpower has invaded New York in an alternate version of history. As plumber Chris Stone you become a resistance leader, recruiting and commanding up to 12 fighters, and missions connect so that progress in one part of the city shifts battles elsewhere.

What players say: Players praise the stirring soundtrack and the unusual squad-based action, and several say it deserves a remake or sequel.

Worth buying? Anyone curious about commanding a squad in a shooter gets a rare classic here.

Steam: $1.49 (94% off) · regular price $24.99 · 91% positive Steam reviews (1,137) · ends Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A crude, comedic 3D platformer where you play Nate, a demon sent to collect gross ingredients for Satan's birthday pie. Your angel sidekick Nugget is chained to you and doubles as a grappling hook and a weapon, while horns you find unlock new abilities for exploring big, secret-packed levels.

What players say: The fast, smooth movement and swinging with the chained cherub win the most praise, along with the dark humor and secrets to find, though it's on the easy side. Detractors say the jokes fall flat and the level design runs out of steam after the early areas.

Worth buying? Relaxed collectathon lovers who don't mind gross-out jokes should have plenty of fun here.

Steam: $1.29 (90% off) · regular price $12.99 · 89% positive Steam reviews (931) · ends Oct 26, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A sci-fi twin-stick roguelike shooter built around a gravity gun. You grab asteroids, mines, enemy rockets and even enemies, then fling them back across the arena, collecting powers and items to shape each run as you push toward huge bosses in a glitched galaxy.

What players say: Hurling objects and enemies into each other is called hugely satisfying, and reviewers also praise the tight controls and the amount of content.

Good to know: Runs use permadeath, so dying sends you back to the start.

Worth buying? Roguelike shooter fans who enjoy physics-driven chaos will get a lot of runs out of this one.

Bridge Constructor Portal

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedRuns on older PCs

Steam: $0.89 (91% off) · regular price $9.99 · 90% positive Steam reviews (2,525) · Close to its lowest Steam price of the past year ($0.79) · ends Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A 2D physics puzzle game that merges Bridge Constructor with Portal inside Aperture Science's test chambers. You build bridges, ramps and slides, then use portals, gels, faith plates and cubes to get little vehicles past turrets, acid and lasers, with GLaDOS, voiced by Ellen McLain, mocking your work.

What players say: GLaDOS's snarky commentary and the way portal gadgets become part of each puzzle get lots of love. The flip side, raised by several, is that it tests puzzle solving more than real bridge engineering.

Good to know: A level editor lets you build your own test chambers and share them.

Worth buying? Portal fans who like fiddly physics puzzles should enjoy this, though it dipped a little lower this past year, so patient buyers can hold out for another sale.

What it is: A brutal first-person shooter from Digital Extremes based on the Top Cow comic, following mob boss Jackie Estacado as the supernatural power inside him breaks loose. You fire two guns while two demon arms slash, grab and throw enemies and objects.

What players say: The quad-wielding combat and the story still hold up for many. Several players, though, hit a bug in a vent section that stops progress.

Good to know: Besides the solo story, it offers a four-player co-op campaign.

Worth buying? Story-driven shooter fans will find a strong campaign here, though it has sold for less within the past year, so patient buyers can wait for a deeper sale.

Steam: $5.99 (90% off) · regular price $59.99 · 83% positive Steam reviews (8,385) · ends Nov 2, 1:00 PM ET

What it is: A cinematic horror adventure from Supermassive Games set at a summer camp on its last night. You switch between nine teenage counselors hunted by locals and something worse, and both small and big decisions, plus quick-time events, decide who makes it to morning.

What players say: Many enjoy it like a campy slasher movie and praise its striking visuals. The common gripe is the writing, with plot holes and characters acting in baffling ways.

Good to know: It supports local split-screen co-op as well as online play.

Worth buying? Choose-your-fate horror fans who enjoy B-movie camp will get their money's worth; skip it if you want a tightly plotted story.
