Steam: $2.99 (80% off) · regular price $14.99 · 91% positive Steam reviews (3,492) · ends Nov 16, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: In Runic Games' 2009 adventure, a magical ore called Ember has drawn monsters up from the tunnels beneath a mining town, and you head down to clear them out. You pick one of three heroes, fight through floors that are reshuffled on each visit and collect new weapons and gear, while a pet companion carries items and joins the battles. Between fights you can go fishing, and the right catch turns your pet into a stronger creature.
What players say: Reviewers love how closely it captures the original Diablo's dungeon crawling, loot and music, and say it still holds up well; the recurring knock is that it starts to feel samey once you've seen the first stretch of floors.
Good to know: It ships with the developers' own TorchED editor, so you can install or create mods.
Worth buying? Diablo fans who missed it get an easygoing, moddable loot crawler that still holds up.
The Red Strings Club

Steam: $2.99 (80% off) · regular price $14.99 · 91% positive Steam reviews (3,259) · ends Nov 10, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A cyberpunk pixel-art adventure from Deconstructeam where you tend a hidden bar alongside a hacker, trying to stop a corporation from rolling out a system that would wipe negative emotions from society. You mix cocktails to sway customers' moods and pry out secrets, sculpt genetic implants on a futuristic pottery wheel, and fake other people's voices over the phone, with your choices steering the story.
What players say: The writing gets the most love, with sharp dialogue, memorable characters and themes that hit hard, though many wish it were longer and a few felt let down by the second half and ending.
Worth buying? If you like story-driven games that leave you chewing on questions about happiness and manipulation, this cyberpunk bar is a strong pick.

Steam: $7.49 (50% off) · regular price $14.99 · 97% positive Steam reviews (1,834) · ends Nov 18, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A party fighting game where cartoon foods hurl boomerangs at each other in lightning-quick rounds across more than 30 food-themed arenas. You stack power-ups like exploding boomerangs and telekinesis, curve throws around walls, and battle friends head to head or team up against AI opponents.
What players say: Kids, teens and adults alike find it easy to learn, and reviewers praise its polish, responsive controls and capable bots that fill empty slots, while experienced players still find depth to master.
Good to know: Its co-op and versus modes are played locally on one screen.
Worth buying? Anyone who hosts game nights gets one of the best-loved party games on Steam, and it hasn't been cheaper in a year.
Röki

Steam: $1.99 (90% off) · regular price $19.99 · 92% positive Steam reviews (1,093) · ends Nov 10, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A puzzle adventure from Polygon Treehouse set in a snowy wilderness drawn from Scandinavian folklore. You play Tove, a girl trying to save her family, exploring an icy forest, gathering odd items to solve puzzles and making friends with strange creatures while she maps her journey in a journal.
What players say: The art, music and an emotional, surprisingly gloomy story earn the most praise; the puzzles lean gentle, which some enjoy and others find too easy.
Worth buying? A storybook-looking but melancholy tale for adventure fans who prefer thinking over reflexes; just know the puzzles stay on the easy side.
Nightshade

Steam: $17.49 (50% off) · regular price $34.99 · 95% positive Steam reviews (729) · ends Nov 9, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: An otome visual novel set in Japan just after the Sengoku period, where the heroine is caught up in the rivalry between the Iga and Koga ninja clans. Your choices steer romance routes with five leading men, each with two possible endings, and the whole cast is voiced by well-known Japanese actors.
What players say: Fans rave about the gorgeous character art, the voice acting and routes that pull them in emotionally, but several are put off by certain romance setups, such as pursuing characters who raised the heroine like family.
Worth buying? Otome readers drawn to historical drama and ninja intrigue should grab this one, since its branching routes reward several playthroughs.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $3.99 (80% off) · regular price $19.99 · 86% positive Steam reviews (1,990) · ends Nov 18, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: Lizardcube's hand-drawn remake of a cult classic platformer, where a dragon's curse turns your hero into a lizard and every dragon you slay transforms you into a new animal. Each form, from mouse to hawk, has abilities that reveal secrets in an interconnected world, and you can flip to the original 8-bit graphics and sound whenever you like.
What players say: The redrawn visuals and music win nearly everyone over, but several reviewers wrestle with slippery movement, shaky hit detection and old-school difficulty spikes.
Worth buying? If you grew up with the original, this lovingly faithful update is a treat; if dated controls test your patience, pass.
Plague Inc: Evolved

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedRuns on older PCs
Steam: $2.99 (80% off) · regular price $14.99 · 93% positive Steam reviews (27,305) · It was $1.49 on Steam within the past year · ends Nov 18, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A strategy sim where you design a disease starting with a single infected patient and evolve it to end humanity before the world develops a cure. You decide how it spreads, which symptoms and abilities it gains, and tackle different pathogen types, from bacteria to a zombie virus, plus a set of special scenarios.
What players say: Racing against the cure is tense and darkly funny, but many say runs start to feel the same once you've tried each disease a time or two.
Good to know: Besides the solo game, it has co-op and versus multiplayer modes.
Worth buying? Never tried this pandemic sandbox? It is well worth playing, but patient buyers can wait for a deeper sale, since it has gone lower within the past year.
Darksiders Genesis

Worth a trySteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $4.49 (85% off) · regular price $29.99 · 84% positive Steam reviews (3,540) · ends Nov 9, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: Set before the first Darksiders, Airship Syndicate's game follows the horsemen War and Strife as they hunt down demon lords that Lucifer has empowered. Viewed from above, you cut through hordes of demons with sword strikes and gunfire, playing as War or Strife alone, or with a friend on the same screen in co-op.
What players say: The combat and the bickering between War and Strife are big hits, especially with a co-op partner, but many run into bugs, from getting stuck on terrain to encounters that refuse to finish.
Worth buying? Curious how the Darksiders saga began? You'll have a good time slashing through it; if glitches spoil a game for you, look elsewhere.
Move or Die

Worth a trySteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price in a year
Steam: $3.74 (75% off) · regular price $14.99 · 84% positive Steam reviews (3,279) · ends Nov 17, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A chaotic 2D party platformer for up to four players where the rules switch every 20 seconds and standing still gets you killed. Rounds jump between modes like Jump Shot and Chainsaw Backstab, and you can play on one couch, online, or against bots.
What players say: Short, frantic rounds make it a blast on the couch with friends, but the online side draws complaints about empty servers, lag and crashes.
Good to know: It supports Steam Workshop and has a level editor, so you can grab or build custom levels and modes.
Worth buying? Best for groups who gather around one screen for quick, silly matches; anyone hoping for a busy online scene should skip it.

Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey Remastered

Grab itRuns on older PCs
Fanatical: Free · regular price $7.99 on Steam · 94% positive Steam reviews (339) · ends Nov 6, 2026
What it is: A cute turn-based word RPG from Bacon Bandit Games where you help two grim reapers, Grimm and Rose, battle ghosts and nasty bunnies by building words from letter tiles. Gems won in fights pay for upgrades, books and potions, and you can type your words straight from the keyboard instead of clicking. This remaster also adds an endless survival mode.
What players say: Fans of Bookworm Adventures call it the closest thing on Steam and enjoy the spelling battles while the light story stays out of the way; the main gripes are repetition, upgrades that stop mattering, and a dictionary that occasionally rejects real words.
Good to know: It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Worth grabbing? Word puzzle lovers who like to play in short bursts should add this one to their library.
Steam Deck results are Valve's own tests of the Steam version. Runs on older PCs means 4 GB of RAM or less.
