Steam: $1.99 (90% off) · regular price $19.99 · 90% positive Steam reviews (123,169) · ends Nov 16, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A comedic first-person looter shooter set on the planet Pandora, where you pick one of four Vault Hunter classes and seek revenge against the villain Handsome Jack. Fights spill out piles of guns, and friends can drop into your campaign at any point for co-op.
What players say: Many call it the best entry in the series, praising its writing and humor. The negative reviews focus on publisher changes, such as updated terms of service and backend tweaks that players say make online play with friends harder.
Good to know: It asks for a SHiFT account, which can be linked to your Steam account.
Worth buying? Anyone who enjoys shooting their way through mountains of loot with friends should pick this up, especially now that it has never been cheaper on Steam. It also holds up well solo if you just want the story and the jokes.
Frostpunk

Steam: $2.99 (90% off) · regular price $29.99 · 92% positive Steam reviews (39,258) · ends Nov 14, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A survival city builder set in a frozen steampunk world, where you build the last city on Earth and fight to keep its people warm. You assign workers, ration resources and pass laws that keep citizens alive at a moral cost while the temperature keeps dropping.
What players say: Fans praise the tense, impossible choices and the bleak atmosphere that stays with them after the credits. The common complaint is that it is punishing, with constant micromanagement and trial-and-error mistakes that can sink a whole run.
Good to know: It includes an Endless Mode and The Fall of Winterhome scenario at no extra cost.
Worth buying? Strategy fans who like pressure and hard decisions should buy now. Be ready to restart a few times while you learn how the cold works.
Torchlight II

Steam: $3.99 (80% off) · regular price $19.99 · 92% positive Steam reviews (17,643) · ends Nov 16, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: You choose one of four classes and battle hordes of monsters across a vast overworld with several hub towns, while rain, snow and nightfall change the scenery. Dungeon layouts, enemies and treasure are reshuffled on every run, and friends can join you to fight side by side.
What players say: Players enjoy the straightforward hack-and-slash fun and often compare it favorably with the Diablo games. The negative reviews target the new developers, their plans to use AI in updates and a coming third-party login for multiplayer.
Good to know: Co-op works online or over a local network, alongside a full solo campaign.
Worth buying? Players after a bright, easygoing loot grind in the Diablo mold, alone or with friends, will feel at home here.
This War of Mine

Grab itSteam Deck: PlayableLowest Steam price in a yearRuns on older PCs
Steam: $1.99 (90% off) · regular price $19.99 · 92% positive Steam reviews (23,112) · ends Nov 14, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A survival strategy game about ordinary civilians, not soldiers, hiding in a city under siege. By day you craft, trade and care for your group inside a ruined shelter, and by night you send one person out to scavenge, facing grim choices about whom to help and what to take.
What players say: Many praise the harrowing story of civilians caught in war and the gameplay split between base management by day and scavenging by night. The recurring complaint is that scavenging and cooking become a repetitive, slow-paced routine.
Worth buying? It suits players who want a game that leaves them thinking, more than one that keeps them entertained minute to minute. Its heavy themes and survival pressure make it a strong fit for fans of thoughtful indie strategy.
Hitman: Blood Money

Grab itSteam Deck: PlayableLowest Steam price ever
Steam: $0.99 (90% off) · regular price $9.99 · 94% positive Steam reviews (6,761) · ends Nov 9, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A third-person stealth game in which Agent 47 takes assassination contracts in large sandbox levels, using disguises, distractions and staged accidents to reach his targets. Quiet, clean hits pay more, and the cash goes toward weapon upgrades and bribes that lower your notoriety.
What players say: Its level design and freedom to plan each kill your own way are praised as timeless. Several reviewers mention stutters or crashes on modern PCs, sometimes needing settings tweaks to run smoothly.
Worth buying? Stealth fans who like scouting routines and setting up the perfect accident get a classic that has never cost less on Steam.
Dropsy

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $0.99 (90% off) · regular price $9.99 · 93% positive Steam reviews (1,633) · ends Nov 9, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A surreal pixel-art point-and-click adventure about a grotesque but kind-hearted clown whose name is ruined after a deadly circus fire. You roam a fairly open world, solve puzzles and hug strangers, and characters talk through picture icons instead of written dialogue.
What players say: The charm, the colorful pixel art and the music win people over. Some find the ending confusing and unsatisfying, and a few mention it freezing briefly before the credits.
Worth buying? A good match for adventure fans who like odd, sweet games and don't mind working out puzzles without text hints. Come for the mood and the clown rather than a tightly told plot.
Sumire

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $0.83 (86% off) · regular price $5.99 · 95% positive Steam reviews (889) · ends Nov 9, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A narrative adventure set in a painterly rural Japanese village, where a troubled young girl makes a deal with a mischievous spirit to grant her wish. Over one day you accept or refuse quests, make choices big and small, and everything wraps up when the sky turns to twilight.
What players say: Reviewers are moved by its gentle handling of grief, family trouble and healing, and the art style is praised again and again.
Worth buying? With 95% of players recommending it, this is an easy yes for anyone drawn to gentle, emotional story games.
Children of Morta

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedRuns on older PCs
Steam: $3.29 (85% off) · regular price $21.99 · 88% positive Steam reviews (7,638) · It was $2.19 on Steam within the past year · ends Nov 14, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A story-driven action roguelite where you control a whole family, the Bergsons, hacking through procedurally generated dungeons to push back a spreading Corruption. Each relative fights differently, and leveling one character strengthens the entire household between runs, with no permadeath.
What players say: The warm narration, the family story and the pixel art are the big draws, and co-op gets plenty of praise. On the downside, some find the combat drags solo, with tough enemies that turn fights into a lot of kiting.
Good to know: Co-op works on one screen at home as well as online.
Worth buying? Best for duos who want a heartfelt roguelite to play together; solo players who dislike repetitive combat may want to pass. It has been cheaper on Steam within the past year, so patient buyers can hold out for a deeper sale.
Borderlands 3

Worth a trySteam Deck: PlayableLowest Steam price in a year
Steam: $5.99 (90% off) · regular price $59.99 · 81% positive Steam reviews (60,403) · ends Nov 16, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A first-person shooter where you play one of four Vault Hunters who leave Pandora to stop the Calypso Twins, a pair of cult leaders rallying bandits across the galaxy. You build out skill trees, slide and climb through firefights, and collect guns with odd tricks, such as rifles that spawn volcanoes, alone or in co-op.
What players say: Nearly everyone agrees the gunplay and character builds are the best in the series. Just as many say the story, villains and long unskippable dialogue are a big step down from the second game.
Worth buying? Pick it up if you play Borderlands for the shooting and endgame builds. If the writing is what made you love the series, start with Borderlands 2 instead.
Moonlighter

Worth a trySteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $1.99 (90% off) · regular price $19.99 · 80% positive Steam reviews (7,315) · ends Nov 14, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A pixel-art action roguelite about Will, a village shopkeeper who dreams of being a hero and dives into dungeons behind ancient gates. You fight through rooms for loot, then set prices and sell your finds in your own shop to pay for better gear.
What players say: The mix of dungeon runs and shopkeeping charms most players, along with the art and soundtrack. Common complaints are clunky combat and controls, plus a loop that turns repetitive.
Worth buying? Fans of light shop-management games with action on the side will get plenty out of it. Players who want sharp, precise combat should probably skip it.
Steam Deck results are Valve's own tests of the Steam version. Runs on older PCs means 4 GB of RAM or less.
