Steam: $2.49 (75% off) · regular price $9.99 · 97% positive Steam reviews (39,968) · ended Oct 20, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A first-person stealth action game from Arkane Studios set in Dunwall, a plague-ridden whaling city full of odd steampunk machinery. You play Corvo, the Empress's bodyguard framed for her murder, taking on assassination missions with supernatural powers, gadgets and blades, either slipping past guards in the shadows or fighting in the open. How you deal with each target shapes which of several endings you reach.
What players say: Reviewers keep coming back to the level design, which turns each mission into an open playground with many routes and real freedom of approach, and they feel it has aged remarkably well.
Good to know: It's single-player only.
Worth buying? Anyone who likes choosing their own path through a mission, quietly or loudly, should play this one; it sits at 97% positive on Steam, and this is its lowest Steam price in a year, a good moment to grab it.
Death's Door

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price ever
Steam: $1.99 (90% off) · regular price $19.99 · 93% positive Steam reviews (11,002) · ended Oct 17, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: In Acid Nerve's adventure you play a small crow who reaps souls of the dead as a day job. When a soul you were assigned gets stolen, you follow the thief through mysterious doors into a realm where creatures have stopped dying and grown monstrous. Along the way you swing blades, fire arrows and cast spells against beasts and huge bosses, solve small puzzles and upgrade your stats in a bleak world with a dark sense of humor.
What players say: Players praise the art style and music, and many enjoy the exploration and combat. The common complaint is getting lost without a map and spending a lot of time walking and backtracking.
Worth buying? Fans of compact, challenging action games with lots of charm should jump in; with 93% positive reviews and a record-low Steam price, the timing is ideal.
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $3.99 (90% off) · regular price $39.99 · 94% positive Steam reviews (9,085) · ends Oct 26, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A real-time tactics stealth game from Mimimi Games set in Edo-era Japan, where a new Shogun sends a team of five specialists after rebels and conspirators. From an isometric view you sneak through castles, snowy monasteries and forest camps, combining a ninja's sword, a samurai's raw strength, a disguise expert, a trap-setter and a sniper to slip past or take down dozens of guards. Every mission plays like a puzzle with many possible solutions.
What players say: Praise centers on how each character's skills combine into creative solutions, making experimentation rewarding. The recurring complaint is clunky controls and fiddly mechanics.
Worth buying? Patient planners who enjoy trial, error and clever setups will get the most from it; the game is rated 94% positive and has never cost less on Steam.
Brutal Legend

Steam: $2.24 (85% off) · regular price $14.99 · 93% positive Steam reviews (6,405) · ended Oct 20, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A comedic open-world action game from Double Fine starring Jack Black as Eddie Riggs, a roadie thrown into a heavy-metal fantasy realm of demons, chrome and leather. You fight with a broadaxe and a guitar that triggers fiery effects, drive across the world, and in big stage battles command your own army in real-time strategy style. Metal legends show up in cameos, and the soundtrack is packed with classic metal bands.
What players say: Reviewers rave about the star-studded voice cast, rock legends included, and a soundtrack stuffed with classic metal, calling the whole game a tribute to the genre.
Good to know: Besides the campaign it has competitive multiplayer, with two extra map packs bundled in on PC.
Worth buying? Metalheads who want a funny, loud adventure are the main audience here, and it holds 93% positive reviews; this is its best Steam price in twelve months, so it's a fine moment to pick it up.
The Swapper

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $2.24 (85% off) · regular price $14.99 · 93% positive Steam reviews (3,440) · ended Oct 19, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: Alone in an isolated corner of deep space, you carry an experimental device that spawns copies of your body and lets you shift your consciousness into any of them. Progress means placing clones and swapping between them to get past each challenge, while a quiet, unsettling story asks what makes a person who they are. The scenery was crafted from clay models and household objects.
What players say: Players praise the clever cloning puzzles, the handmade art style and the thoughtful sci-fi themes. Complaints focus on a few finicky, frustrating puzzles and later mechanics that wear thin.
Worth buying? If you like puzzles that leave you thinking about more than the solution, this is an easy pick: 93% of reviewers recommend it, and it has never been cheaper on Steam.
Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth

Grab itSteam Deck: UnsupportedLowest Steam price everRuns on older PCs
Steam: $1.99 (90% off) · regular price $19.99 · 92% positive Steam reviews (1,735) · ends Oct 26, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A narrative point-and-click adventure from Daedalic based on Ken Follett's novel about Kingsbridge in 12th-century England, where a town builds a cathedral amid war and poverty. You switch between Jack the stonemason's apprentice, the noblewoman Aliena and Philip the monk, exploring hand-painted scenes and making dialogue choices that can change events from the book. It plays much like an illustrated interactive novel.
What players say: The story, characters, hand-painted visuals and orchestral music win most people over. On the downside, the pacing is slow, and some find the characters too modern for the medieval setting.
Worth buying? Readers who enjoy slow-burning historical drama will feel at home here; it scores 92% positive, and the price is a Steam all-time low.
Tails of Iron

Grab itSteam Deck: VerifiedRuns on older PCs
Steam: $2.99 (88% off) · regular price $24.99 · 88% positive Steam reviews (4,154) · It was $1.99 on Steam within the past year · ended Oct 19, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: You play Redgi, a young rat who inherits a broken throne and must drive the Frog Clan out of his war-torn kingdom, in a hand-drawn side-scrolling adventure from Odd Bug Studio. Fights are hard and unforgiving: you study each enemy's attacks, parry and strike back, and between battles you forge weapons and armor, cook meals and take on side quests. Doug Cockle narrates the whole tale.
What players say: There's broad agreement on the charming art, the music and the narrated storytelling. The combat splits people: some find it satisfying and challenging, while others call it stiff and frustrating.
Worth buying? Players who want tough side-scrolling combat wrapped in a storybook look should enjoy it (88% positive on Steam), though it has sold for less within the past year, so patient buyers can hold out for a deeper sale.
Ultimate Fishing Simulator

Grab itSteam Deck: Playable
Steam: $1.19 (94% off) · regular price $19.99 · 88% positive Steam reviews (2,586) · It was $0.99 on Steam within the past year · ended Oct 19, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A 3D fishing simulation from Ultimate Games and Bit Golem that sends you to waters around the world to try spinning, float and ground techniques. You choose gear and bait, cast and fight your catch, drill holes for ice fishing on a winter map, and mount trophies on your wall. A Realistic Mode makes bites rarer and fights longer for anyone wanting more challenge.
What players say: Many find it a relaxing game to unwind with and enjoy the big lineup of fish and maps. Critics point to fish fights and line tension that feel unrealistic.
Good to know: It doesn't need a permanent internet connection to play.
Worth buying? Laid-back players after a game to leave running in the background will get plenty out of it, with 88% positive Steam reviews; it dipped lower within the past year, so there's no rush if you can wait.
Fallout 3

Steam: $2.49 (75% off) · regular price $9.99 · 80% positive Steam reviews (9,926) · ended Oct 23, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A post-apocalyptic open-world RPG from Bethesda where you leave an underground vault and roam the Capital Wasteland, a ruined landscape dotted with wrecked American monuments. You build a character with the SPECIAL stat system, battle Super Mutants and mutated creatures, and make choices that change how the world reacts to you.
What players say: Longtime fans still rate it among the best RPGs in the series. The big problem is getting it to run: many say it crashes or won't start on modern Windows without fan-made patches.
Good to know: You can switch between first- and third-person views with a button press.
Worth buying? Open-world RPG fans who don't mind some tinkering will find a lot to explore at 80% positive and its lowest Steam price ever; skip it if you'd rather not troubleshoot an older game.
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide

Worth a trySteam Deck: Playable
Steam: $2.99 (90% off) · regular price $29.99 · 83% positive Steam reviews (7,873) · It was $2.09 on Steam within the past year · ends Oct 26, 1:00 PM ET
What it is: A first-person co-op action game from Fatshark set in the Warhammer Fantasy world, where the city of Ubersreik is overrun by the Skaven rat-men. Up to four players each pick one of five heroes, such as a witch hunter or a dwarf ranger, and hack, shoot and cast through hordes while completing objectives on each map, with AI bots filling empty slots.
What players say: Fans enjoy the melee-heavy fights against rat hordes and the maps its sequel doesn't have. The shared complaint is that the online community has largely dried up, leaving you with weak AI teammates unless you bring friends.
Good to know: The combat includes graphic, bloody violence.
Worth buying? Groups of friends looking for a co-op night, or Vermintide 2 players curious about the original, will get the most out of it at 83% positive; a lower price has appeared within the past year, so waiting may pay off. Solo players should skip it.
Steam Deck results are Valve's own tests of the Steam version. Runs on older PCs means 4 GB of RAM or less.
